This kit consists of three components. The first component is your choice of a Spin Off pattern, which will be a separate downloadable pdf. The second component of the kit is the fiber, which is mostly breed-specific with some cross breeds, all hand washed to maintain the lock structure and tip orientation, then hand combed into top as two balls, ready to spin. Using the suggested fiber weight of your chosen pattern, choose your fiber and its amount. An information sheet about the specific breed of fiber, its characteristics, lock length, suggested spin information, and appropriate textile usage is included with the fiber. The third component of the kit is an easy-to-use Wool Tincture dye packet, with the dye and citric acid contained in individual tea bags and the manufacturer's step-by step-instructions. Additionally, if you would like your kit to come in an printed canvas tote bag, choose it as an add-on.
Spin Off Patterns
There are only four patterns shown here. Click on "View All" to view all the available patterns. In that new tab, clicking on the pattern of your choice will open up another tab showing the information for that pattern, giving the suggested fiber and weight. To buy the pattern, click on the buy button, and you will see a message pop up about an embedded page opening in a new window. Click OK, and that will take you to the Long Threads Media site to purchase this downloadable file, which will, in most cases, be the particular magazine that the pattern is in; but in a few instances, it will just be the pattern itself. The price you see listed under the pattern picture is the price you will pay once you are on the Spin Off site for the download. I do not charge for the pattern, but as an affiliate, I do receive a small commission from the sale of the pattern. Once you have purchased your pattern, click back to my site and to Spin Off Kits to choose your fiber, dye, and optional tote bag. The information for the tote bag will appear after two items are placed in the Build a Kit basket and the continue button is clicked.
